Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: #215 – 20 Westwind Drive, Spruce Grove, Alberta, Canada T7X 0Y5
Shift: Monday to Friday
Job Summary:
Family Practice Medical clinic located in Spruce Grove, AB is seeking an experience LPN for a Full-Time Position in our fast paced office. We are seeking someone who can work independently, and as a team in a multidisciplinary environment. Must be organized, have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Completes patient histories, initial assessments, update demographics, and medical documents information
- Assists physicians with surgical procedures, drivers medicals and complete medicals. Complete height, weight, Vitals, ABD girth, History and assist with PAPs
- Liaise, transcribe and process physician orders
- Receive and transcribe verbal orders from an authorized prescriber
- Be knowledgeable of preparations for all clinical procedures
- Performs procedures within scope of practice in compliance with guidelines. These include but are not limited to SC & IM injections, dressings, suture removal, planter wart treatment, and ear flushing (with supervision as required), ECG, Spirometry, etc.
- Administer vaccines
Qualifications:
- Required graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nurse Program
- Active registration with CLPNA
- Annual renewal and proof of current registration required
- Current CPR and First Aid is required (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Netcare and EMR is an asset- Med Access Preferred
- Specialized training & certification of administering IM injections and vaccines
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team
- Proven ability to work in a face paced environment
- Effective multi-tasking, time management and organization skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated commitment to providing focused patient care
- Clear criminal record check
